About Us
Rooted by Jesse is a non-profit, nondenominational ministry born out of prayer and anchored in love. The ministry is devoted to meeting people where they are and sharing real, personal encounters with Jesus. Those moments of grace and transformation are what truly open hearts, and the foundation can grow from there.
This ministry was born from Michelle Kovitch’s personal journey through unimaginable loss — the illness and passing of her beloved husband. During deep grief, Michelle discovered an even deeper faith. And from that place, hope began to grow. Rooted by Jesse is the fruit of that journey — a ministry grounded in perseverance, love, and the steady presence of God through it all.
Recognizing that we can’t avoid the pain and that we have to walk through it, the difference is that we don’t walk alone. God meets us right there — in the middle of the heartbreak, the anger, the questions, and the quiet moments — and it’s in that sacred place that healing begins and faith takes root.
We celebrate His faithfulness, create sacred space for healing, and walk alongside others as they navigate grief and grace. As Michelle says, “Even when the ground was shaking, my roots held firm — because they were planted in Him.”
Rooted by Jesse exists to help others move from simply identifying as “Christian” to becoming true disciples — people deeply connected to Jesus, boldly sharing His love, and living out their faith in everyday encounters. When we share our stories — those undeniable moments when God met us — we become a light in this world. And through our testimonies, we help build the Kingdom He’s entrusted to us.

Rooted by Jesse, a nonprofit ministry embodies the hope and transformation symbolized in Isaiah 11:-2, "A Shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him."
The "branch" of Jesse emerges to bring new life and fulfillment through Jesus Christ. We are committed to nurturing spiritual growth, healing, and restoration through the message of Jesus Christ, the "Branch," who brings life and grace to the broken. We are the branches, nourished by the sap of the tree. By sharing His love and truth, we seek to plant seeds of faith, nurture discipleship, and empower communities to live in the fullness of God's love, peace, purpose, and promise.
Rooted by Jesse is a culture grounded by the love and faithfulness of Jesus, with a lifestyle centered on experiencing His joy, His strength, and His peace every day, no matter the circumstances.

"God is always there." That’s the message that resonated deeply with me throughout this beautiful, faith-filled book. From the first chapter to the last, Michelle gently but powerfully reminds us that no matter what we go through—loneliness, loss, pain, uncertainty, or joy—God never leaves our side.
The stories and Scripture shared throughout the book were both relatable and encouraging. I found myself highlighting passages that spoke directly to my heart, especially during moments when I needed a reminder of God’s presence. Michelles writing is clear, sincere, and rooted in biblical truth, making this an uplifting read for all.
What I appreciated most was how the book didn’t sugarcoat life’s hardships. Instead, it pointed back to God’s faithfulness in the midst of it all. It reminded me that His silence does not mean His absence—and that His presence often shows up in quiet, unexpected ways.
If you’re looking for a book that will strengthen your faith, bring comfort to your soul, and renew your trust in God’s nearness, I highly recommend this one.
This was given to me as a gift, probably one of the best gifts I have ever received, and it is such a moving read. If you just want a good read, there it is. If you are struggling with your faith, here is a path that can strengthen your relationship with God. If you are questioning whether God is always there, you will find the answer to that as well. This will stay in my library but I will also be purchasing for friends and the church library.
This book is authentic and so inspirational. It is a wonderful reminder that Jesus is with us in good times and bad. My faith was nourished by reading Prayers on Third!
A must read! I'm not a "reader", but this book is a page turner. I couldn't put it down! It's a true story that's inspiring and incredibly moving. This book strengthened my faith and is incredible encouragement. I highly recommend the read! You'll love this book!
I absolutely loved this book,I had to use a lot of tissues! I truly believe I’m a Christian but after reading this book I think I need to do some work! I do know that the Good Lord has gotten me through some very rough times! God bless Michelle, keep writing!!
